Confirmation

Confirmation is a huge step in the Christian life. Through it we confirm our faith in Jesus that we were gifted in baptism. Many of us were confirmed through the traditional process – midweek classes during our 7th and 8th grade years. Due to the realities of life in a small mountain community, we at Christ Lutheran in Breckenridge have developed a different process leading to confirmation. Although the process is different, the goal is the same – continued growth in our relationship with God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

As opposed to weekly classes during 7th and 8th grade, Christ Lutheran’s confirmation process will consist of retreats that followers of Jesus can participate in during their 5th through 10th grade years. There will be six (6) retreat topics (See below) covered. We will have two retreats per year (one in the fall, one in the spring). If you do the math, you’ll see that each retreat topic will occur twice during the specified time frame. In addition to the retreat format, we will also be partnering with other congregations out of a desire to maximize our resources.

As with any confirmation process, parental involvement is key to maximize its success. Follow up resources will be provided for parents after each retreat.
